Templar Hunt side missions reward Templar Keys, which unlock the Templar Armor in a cage at your Great Inagua hideout. The armor provides ~25% damage resistance from all sources (melee included), making it the best general-purpose combat outfit.
How Templar Hunts Work
Each hunt is a multi-part assassination mission. You get a lead from a contact (tavern or mission board), track the target through eavesdropping, tailing, and interrogation objectives, then confront and kill them. Each target drops one key.
Five Templar Hunts total:
- Opia Apito (Cayman Sound / Grand Cayman) — Beach and jungle hunt with a tracking section through the woods.
- Rhona Dinsmore (Havana) — City-based hunt through Havana's streets and rooftops. Includes a fun rooftop chase.
- Anto (Kingston) — Plantation/slave camp infiltration with many guards. Bring sleep darts.
- Vance Travers (Nassau area) — Starts in Nassau, moves to outer jungles. Includes a swamp section with crocodiles.
- Jing Lang (Santa Lucia / eastern Caribbean) — Last hunt, includes a naval component plus land combat. Most combat-heavy of the five.

Tips for Each Hunt
- Upgrade gear before the last two hunts (Anto and Jing Lang) — more guards and tougher fights.
- Eavesdropping is easier with crouch — stay in cover/tall grass within the hearing circle on the minimap.
- Final confrontations are sometimes duels rather than assassinations. Treat targets as officer-level enemies: parry, heavy, watch for unblockable combos.

The Templar Armor cage is at Great Inagua hideout, in the main house area. You'll pass it multiple times during the story. Return with five keys to open it.
Templar Armor vs. Mayan Armor
- Mayan Armor: Deflects bullets/arrows. Best for forts, boarding actions (mast gunners), and open-area stealth.
- Templar Armor: 25% reduction from all damage. Best for melee-heavy fights, boss encounters, and legendary ship boarding.
