Mayan Stelae are stone pillars scattered across the Caribbean. Each one presents a simple spatial alignment puzzle. Solve it to dig up a Mayan Stone. Collect all 16 and insert them at the Tulum door to unlock the Mayan Armor — an outfit that deflects all bullets and arrows.
How the Puzzle Works
- Climb to the top of the stela and press interact.
- The camera switches to an elevated puzzle view.
- White/colored shapes appear on the ground made of stone, tiles, or grass.
- Move Edward to the position where the shapes align into a complete Mayan symbol.
- Stand on the correct spot to reveal a glowing dig point. Dig there for the stone.

Tips for Solving Stelae Fast
- Study the shapes from the stela top before climbing down. Look for where disconnected white shapes would connect from a specific angle.
- The correct spot is almost always on or very near one of the white shapes, not in empty grass.
- Eagle Vision from the ground sometimes highlights the dig spot directly.
- If stuck, walk in circles around the stela at 10-20 meters. Puzzle-mode camera gives strong visual hints as you pass the solution zone.

Finding All 16 Stelae
Stelae exist on every major island: Havana, Nassau, Kingston, Great Inagua, Tulum, Cape Bonavista, Isla Providencia, and several smaller cays. They appear on the map as a Mayan symbol icon once you sync the local viewpoint. If a stone isn't showing on your map, sync more viewpoints.
The Mayan Armor
Once you have all 16 stones, go to the marked Mayan door in the Tulum complex. Insert the stones to reveal the armor.
Effect: Bullets and arrows bounce off with a metallic clink. Zero damage from firearms or archers. Does not protect from melee attacks or cannon fire.
